Allow me to introduce myself

Lookoff

Before I post my scholarship blog, I will use this opportunity to introduce myself to everyone.

I'm a small town girl from Nova Scotia, Canada. I spent the first few 18 years of my life in the scenic Annapolis Valley (known for growing apples), then moved to a tiny village on the South Shore, renowned for sheltered sailing in a bay scattered with secluded islands.

In 2007, I finished by Bachelor of Public Relations degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and I am bursting to start my Master of Arts in International Communication at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.

Currently, I am completing an internship in business and community development. Mostly, I work with a variety of non-profit organizations to help them grow and evolve their services to create more sustainable communties.

Also, I write profiles and news stories or my local paper--it helps me make contacts in my neighbourhood, get to know the people I'm surrounded by, and keep my writing skills in good condition.

When I am done my masters degree, I will work in international development: first by gaining direct experience overseas, then by returning home to Nova Scotia and working for a charitable or government organization.

Over the next few months, I will use this blog to post my musings about a variety of topics that might interest anyone involved in living simply, the environment, health concerns, or what is happening internationally.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to leave me a comment or message. Thanks for reading!
